Rocky River is a suburb of Cleveland Ohio, located about 15 minutes west of that city, along the shores of Lake Erie. Named for the river that forms its eastern boundary, the upscale community boasts gracious homes, plentiful parks, and a variety of restaurants and shopping. 

Downtown Rocky River, like the city itself, is both old and new. By the river and close to the lake, residents don't have to leave town to get great shopping and dining. The downtown shopping district has excellent restaurants, an Antique Row, art galleries, clothing stores, day spas, book stores, specialty boutiques and an array of other places in which to shop. Beachcliff Market Square, a 1930 movie theater complex which has been renovated into an upscale mall that includes over 20 specialty shops and restaurants. The design for Beachcliff Market Square received a State of Ohio Historical Society Innovative Adaptive Reuse Recognition.

 

The Westlake Hotel-historic building in the heart of Rocky RiverAlso downtown is The Westlake, which the National Register of Historic Places lists as a bright spot of Art Deco grandeur. The peach colored, eight-story Westlake sits on riverside property that has seen one sort or another of hotel or restaurant from 1816 until the building was converted into condominiums in 1983.  

Rocky River is home to the Cleveland Yachting Club, The Westwood Country Club, and Force Indoor Sports.  So wether you enjoy boating, golfing, racquet ball, tennis, or working out, you will be able to find it at one of these prestigious clubs!

 

Award winning public schools and some of the finest private pre-schools and k-12 in the Cleveland ares. Rocky River is a city with a real sense of community. Rocky River is the only Cuyahoga County community with its own police boat, is home to one of the very first Senior Centers ever opened in the area, and is also home to a new courthouse. Rocky River is a city designed to provide services, public and private amenities, and a hometown atmosphere for people of all ages. It isn't at all uncommon for people to grow up here, go away to school, maybe move away for awhile, and then finally find their way back to settle down for the rest of their lives.
